We used to call ourselves The Good Men, and in early 1992 we made Give It Up.
Back then our studio was very basic. In fact it was a bedroom with nothing more than a bed and a few pieces of gear. For example our mixer was a dusty Boss BX 8 mixer with only a few channels and bass & treble knobs.
Hi guys & girls, here’s a new remix we did for Mastiksoul & Gregor Salto‘s massive ‘Toca Bunda’. During our tour in Portugal we were told what ‘bunda‘ means, so we added some bunda shaking bass, thumping kick drums and whooshing stuff. Out now on 4kenzo records @ beatport.
Late last year, the original mix of Chiuso marked the joining of Laidback Luke and Gina Turner in a orgy of creative production, the result of which was Chiuso; a really awesome latin inspired house track.
Now, Defected asked us to give our interpretation of Chiuso. Of course we said yes. So we worked our butts of and made some banging beats you can dance to with lots of stuff thrown on top! And horns.
This is what those lovely folks at Big & Dirty Records had to say about its:
“Umbungo is the latest offering from rising stars The BeatThiefs. This energetic tech house monster already killed dancefloors during ADE where it got its first road tests. For more dancefloor damage head over to the Chocolate Puma remix who have delivered probably one of their best remixes in a while. Known for delivering top class production, Chocolate Puma recreated Umbungo into a fierce house meets tribal monster. Big stuff!”
We do apologize for any harm done to the dancefloors.
Releasedate: December 6th, 2010, exclusively on Beatport.
