Some of you might remember Alison Limerick from her 1990 hit ‘Where Love Lives’. She hooked up with the legendary X-press 2 (Muzik X-press, Lazy) and together they came up with the quite excellent ‘In The Blood’. When we were asked to do a remix of their collaboration we were ready to come up with the goods!

But we didn’t. Our remix sucked, and we were gutted.

Luckily after some tough but fair comments from the X-press 2 guys, and some sleepless nights in the studio we came up with this, and they loved it!

As featured on the latest Defected In The House Miami ’12 compilation, here’s our remix for Osunlade’s Envision. It was quite hard to remix this one as the original version was already amazing. So we tried to keep the original vibe but added some choco flavour and upright basslines. Hope u like!

Late last year, the original mix of Chiuso marked the joining of Laidback Luke and Gina Turner in a orgy of creative production, the result of which was Chiuso; a really awesome latin inspired house track.
Now, Defected asked us to give our interpretation of Chiuso. Of course we said yes. So we worked our butts of and made some banging beats you can dance to with lots of stuff thrown on top! And horns.

After 19 years (yes, it’s that old) Bart B More got the rights to re-release this gem on his Secure Recordings imprint. He thought we were old school enough to do a remix. Yes, we got another remix out. It’s a track by Martin Accorsi feat. Sarah Kühne and it’s called Soul Jack.
Released on Roger Sanchez’ Stealth Records, this track has been a firm favourite in our sets, and from what we’ve heard it also gets heavy support from all the usual suspects.

South Street Player – (Who?) Keeps Changing Your Mind (Chocolate Puma Fresh Fruit Vocal Edit)

Back in 1993 Strictly Rhythm released a record called ‘South Street Player – (Who?) Keeps Changing Your Mind‘. It was a song produced and performed by Roland Clarke, who you also might know from ‘Armand van Helden’s Flowers‘.

Soon it became quite a big club hit here in The Netherlands. We both loved the record so we decided to license it for our Fresh Fruit Label. For our release we made 2 remixes: Fresh Fruit Deep and Fresh Fruit Dub. Both didn’t have much vocals in it, not because we didn’t like them, but because back then we just didn’t have the equipment to include the full vocals. In those early days our ‘studio’ was very basic!

Now, 17 years later, we made a vocal edit of our Fresh Fruit Dub, so you can finally hear it how it was ment to be.
Strictly Rhythm is re-releasing it on the 1st of februari 2010, alongside a remix and dub by Daniel Bovie & Roy Rox.

David Guetta feat. Estelle – One Love (Chocolate Puma Remix)

French superstar David Guetta was already hammering some of our tracks like Dub Of Boom, Soul Makossa and our remix of Flo Rida & Nelly Furtado, which is obviously a very cool thing. It got even better when he asked us to remix his new single One Love, featuring American Boy singer Estelle.
So we turned this popsong into something that would fit on the bigger dancefloors.
