Chocolate Puma – the innovative Dutch house masters exclusively sign to Defected Records.
”René and Gaston are a constant source of quality. For over a decade they have delivered a diversity of underground classics and crossover anthems….mostly under different monikers. It is time to join the dots for Zki and Dobre, Jark Prongo, The Good Men…aka Chocolate Puma!”
Simon Dunmore Defected head of A & R.
You could be forgiven for thinking that Chocolate Puma were a bizarre pair of confectionary trainers. In reality they are the highly respected headlining production duo Zki (René ter Horst) and Dobre (Gaston Steenkist) from Amsterdam.
Known as the original Dutch house masters, they are best known for their huge 1992 crossover dance track ‘Give It Up’ under their ‘The Good Men’ moniker (one of many including Jark Prongo and René et Gaston). The track reached no.6 in the UK charts and was an international hit across the world despite being created in Gaston’s bedroom on a small mixer and broken speakers.
Chocolate Puma have now found a new home at Defected and are poised ready to deliver a steady stream of new productions and remixes.
