We used to call ourselves The Good Men, and in early 1992 we made Give It Up.
Back then our studio was very basic. In fact it was a bedroom with nothing more than a bed and a few pieces of gear. For example our mixer was a dusty Boss BX 8 mixer with only a few channels and bass & treble knobs. Continue Reading →
Defected asked us to remix one of the biggest records of the summer, you know, that ultimate Ibiza track; ‘The Trumpeter’ by Ray Foxx. The funny thing is that we made it on a flight to Casablanca, Morocco. Who needs studios anyway?
Hi guys & girls, here’s a new remix we did for Mastiksoul & Gregor Salto‘s massive ‘Toca Bunda’. During our tour in Portugal we were told what ‘bunda‘ means, so we added some bunda shaking bass, thumping kick drums and whooshing stuff. Out now on 4kenzo records @ beatport.
Late last year, the original mix of Chiuso marked the joining of Laidback Luke and Gina Turner in a orgy of creative production, the result of which was Chiuso; a really awesome latin inspired house track.
Now, Defected asked us to give our interpretation of Chiuso. Of course we said yes. So we worked our butts of and made some banging beats you can dance to with lots of stuff thrown on top! And horns.
With the support of David Guetta, Laidback Luke, Afrojack, ATFC, Copyright, Bingo Players and many others, our bootleg of ‘Missy Elliot’s Get Ur Freak On’ got many of you quite excited.
This is what those lovely folks at Big & Dirty Records had to say about its:
“Umbungo is the latest offering from rising stars The BeatThiefs. This energetic tech house monster already killed dancefloors during ADE where it got its first road tests. For more dancefloor damage head over to the Chocolate Puma remix who have delivered probably one of their best remixes in a while. Known for delivering top class production, Chocolate Puma recreated Umbungo into a fierce house meets tribal monster. Big stuff!”
We do apologize for any harm done to the dancefloors.
Releasedate: December 6th, 2010, exclusively on Beatport.
The biggest rave record ever to come out of The Netherlands would definately be Fierce Ruling Diva – Rubb It In. After 19 years (yes, it’s that old) Bart B More got the rights to re-release this gem on his Secure Recordings imprint. He thought we were old school enough to do a remix. We are, and so we did the remix. Bring on synth stabs, glow sticks and shouting diva’s.
Yes, we got another remix out. It’s a track by Martin Accorsi feat. Sarah Kühne and it’s called Soul Jack.
Released on Roger Sanchez’Stealth Records, this track has been a firm favourite in our sets, and from what we’ve heard it also gets heavy support from all the usual suspects.
Y’all know Robert Owens right? This legendary vocalist is known for one of the best house records of all time, ‘I’ll Be Your Friend‘.
So when we got the chance to remix his track ‘Deep Down’ we were quite chuffed indeed.
