For our upcoming compilation Pssst Music Assorti 1 we went up to our studio’s attic in search for some old master tapes. Doing so, we stumbled upon some old studio equipment we have been using over the years.

About the compilation:

Back in 1995 we stopped releasing on our label Fresh Fruit Records and started a new one, Pssst Music. The main goal for this label always was, and still is, just releasing stuff we like. Wether it would be underground techno, or happy bumping house music, as long as we were feeling it, we would release it. For this reason it was possible to buy a Pssst Record that would end up in Top Of The Pops (I Wanna Be U), or a record that only beard rubbing hipsters in smelly basements would approve of (like Collin Bros. – Pontti, our worst selling record ever).

Recently, and for the first time ever in the history of Pssst, we decided it was time for a series of compilation. We kick of with Pssst Assorti 1. It features some unknown B-sides, well known remastered classics and some stuff we recently did together with Gregor Salto and Firebeatz. Exlusive for this compilation is a new Chocolate Puma track called The Wall Between Us, which fits nicely along the trippier tracks like The Good Men – Kintoki, Pontti and Jark Prongo’s Wet Pants, Smelly Elbows. For the house heads we’ve included Fresh Tunes #3 – The Man, which has that classic ’90′s house feel and Jark Prongo – Sweet Little Thing

Some of you might remember Alison Limerick from her 1990 hit ‘Where Love Lives’. She hooked up with the legendary X-press 2 (Muzik X-press, Lazy) and together they came up with the quite excellent ‘In The Blood’. When we were asked to do a remix of their collaboration we were ready to come up with the goods!

But we didn’t. Our remix sucked, and we were gutted.

Luckily after some tough but fair comments from the X-press 2 guys, and some sleepless nights in the studio we came up with this, and they loved it!

For our current single we went a bit more into this deep bass line vibe. It’s our interpretation of the whole deep house and ’90′s house thing that’s currently rocking the clubs right now, but we added a little Choco oomph ;-)
The song features the amazing jazz & soul singer Colonel Red, who you might remember from our tracks Back Home and For Your Love.

Coming up is our label’s first ever compilation called Pssst Assorti 1. It features all kinds of tracks we released on Pssst Music over the years. From 1995′s synth techno by our alias Collin Bros., deep house under our Fresh Tunes moniker, tough tribal remastered trumpets of Tomba Vira and good old fashioned Jark Prongo beats in the form of ‘Wet Pants’ & ‘Ludicrous’ to our latest collaborations with Gregor Salto & Firebeatz and a brand new Chocolate Puma track called ‘The Wall Between Us’.

We just received this amazing artwork for our upcoming single ‘Destiny’ featuring Colonel Red, and it has totally blown us away. It’s created by Marc Sokpolie, who also did the ‘Visit to Laika’ art for our last few singles. We think this is one of his finest pieces yet.

This is the remix of Same Thing, which we produced and wrote together with Ben Westbeech for his album ‘There’s More To Life Than This’. We threw in some horns and other bits to secure some action on the dance floor.

As featured on the latest Defected In The House Miami ’12 compilation, here’s our remix for Osunlade’s Envision. It was quite hard to remix this one as the original version was already amazing. So we tried to keep the original vibe but added some choco flavour and upright basslines. Hope u like!

Back in 1992 Soup – New York / London was a huge club hit here in Amsterdam. In 2008 we made bootleg for our sets and then kinda forgot about it. Until now. So we thought why not give it to you guys instead of letting it catch dust on our hard drive?

Coming up on our label Pssst Music is a track we did with our friend Gregor Salto.
We’ve known Gregor for quite a while now, he’s from our hometown, and he used to bug us with demo’s. Eventually he got to release one of his first records on our label and not much later he showed everyone he’s boss. We think he’s one of the best producers out there.
So after all these years we finally got together in the studio and came up with Tragito De Ron, a rough kinda latin house affair with piano’s and a woman saying something about rum. Hope you like!
